Currently living and working in the stunning west coast of Scotland.

Passion for tourism, digital marketing and social media. Host a new music show 'Fresh Sounds' every Saturday night on Radio Grapevine, and regularly promote live music. Occasionally DJ for the Tartan Army.

RECENT WORK EXPERIENCE

My Career

DIGITAL ASSISTANT/ EXEC, ARGYLL HOLDIAYS

March 2013 - Present

Responsible for the digital marketing output of Argyll Holidays, including social media, email marketing, website content management, online advertising & SEO.


I work closely with internal & external stakeholders to create innovative campaigns to engage existing and potential customers. This includes writing creative blog content, generating campaign ideas and executing projects. I also manage budgets and collate reports, alongside monitoring and reviewing business strategy KPI's.


The organisation has seen an increase of over 1000% in social media users, with engagement up approximately 30% year on year. In addition, email lists have grown by 19% annually, with response rates also rising.


I also lead the delivery and development of the 'Active Family' initiative - an approach that I introduced to promote Argyll as a single tourism destination. This involves developing and maintaining key partnerships, plus identifying opportunities for investment to drive future revenue and interest.

SOCIAL MEDIA CONSULTANT, EVERYTHING TECH LTD

August 2014 - February 2018

Coordinated the social media output for Everything Tech & partner organisations. This involved conducting social media audits and devising strategic plans to utilise the organisation's digital platforms to build traffic, increase exposure, develop loyal ambassadors and increase conversions.


Through regular communication with organisations and stakeholders, I ensured development of brand awareness, online reputation, content management, goal settings and consistent reporting against KPI's,

EVENT MANAGER, GIG IN THE GOIL

September 2015 - Present

I developed and managed a team behind a new festival in the small lochside Village of Lochgoilhead, growing to an 1000-capacity sell-out event. With over 60 up-and-coming traditional, indie & rock artists playing live across the weekend, plus local food and drink produce and family attractions, the festival had a strong offering, targeting an ABC1 demographic.

 

The event faced challenges of being in a remote geographical area, but through a successful marketing strategy, co-ordination and management, it sold Lochgoilhead as a tourist destination and offered value to attendees. The success of the event ensured longevity of the Gig in the Goil brand.
